EMG X Series - What's the Difference? | TalkBass.com
2006年5月4日 · Okay great, so if I am being quite honest, doing an 18v mod on the non-X versions with the BTS will be about the same as getting the X Series. So if you want the tone of an 18v mod but without 18v, then you could go with the X Series. I say this also because one of the benefits of the X Series pickup is the tone control that comes with it.
EMG VS EMG-X - TalkBass.com
2013年10月19日 · I agree with all the above: to get maximum contrast for the wide variety of repertoire my party band plays, I have a regular 40CS in the neck and a 40JX in the bridge, with the active master volume, active tone, ABC-X active balance, and a EMG EXB for tone shaping. Yes, the "X" pickups need the active tone control, and the regular line of ...

2012年6月28日 · The other EMG's I have are much higher output, and my flat-wound clad J w/Audere-powered Lindy Fraylin split-poles is massive in volume and tone. I did everything by the book for the install, and everything works fine but it's just that the output seems low.
EMG vs EMG X comparison (audio) - Harmony Central
2011年11月17日 · I got a new EMG 81 today so I decided to do a comparison of the original EMG 81 vs the new EMG 81X. There's a few videos on youtube comparing them but all of them are using the cameras mic and also using two different guitars, sometimes as different as floyded vs not, neck thru vs bolt on, and ma...
Emg X with EMG BTC (or any preamp) - TalkBass.com
2017年7月20日 · I've kinda wondered the same thing. I have 2 basses with the original EMG p/j sets with the basic vvt setup. My 3rd EMG equipped bass I bought with the EMG X p/j set with the BTC preamp already installed. The BTC does seem to provide a greater degree of tonal fine tuning but frankly I have the same query you raised .
EMG Pickups - TalkBass.com
2008年12月22日 · Looking at EMG's description of the EMG-X, it looks like this incorporates an active tone circuit. (Standard EMG p'ups have 9v to the pickups themselves; the rest of the electronics are passive) I'd be intersted to know if anyone has added the PJ-X system to a bass, & if so, their impressions, especially if they have experience with the non-X ...
EMG-X Pickup Wiring Clarification - TalkBass.com
2022年7月5日 · I have a 40JX as one of the pickups in my gig bass and a 40CS as the middle pickup. Because I have one "X" pickup, I run the "X" version of the ABC. Generally, the wiring runs in this order: Pickups ABCX balance then the rest is elective. When I had a preamp, after the pickups I went Preamp modules Master volume Jack

2016年12月22日 · Proud emg x convert. I’ve used double Px, PJx & JJx. Currently using JJx in a cort new jazz. Fingerstyle punk & thrash. Favorite is JJ although PJ is excellent. PP was cool but not as dynamic as PJ or JJ. JJ seems to have just as much bass and slightly more bite than PJ but the difference was negligible.
What is the difference between different EMG pickups?
2019年12月11日 · EMG acknowledges this and ships the X series pickups with a different type of tone control that actually works. If you think you want the original P, you can still buy the new tone control separately for about $90, but they should include it …

2023年3月6日 · X EMG's means they are slightly lower output for the same physical force when you pluck or slap the string but could be plucked or slapped harder. This is before the string itself acoustically bottoms out.
