2014年2月19日 · Dean guitar with EMG active pickups ; EMG 85 at neck is loud with distortion /overdrive but very poor sound most is lack of definition . EMG 81 at bridge have clean and very good sound . How can I test the EMG85 ? It have a preamp inside the PU so the DC resistance reading may not work. I did not open the guitar yet .

2025年3月29日 · If my math is right the EL84s are biased at 10.2 W, almost the same as what the stout build doc shows. I could bias them colder as a test.Both pots are audio taper, 500KAI'm not too concerned with excess gain - it is the grainy crackly distortion that I don't like right now.

2024年11月19日 · Those are there to balance the dry signal with the verb signal and to not over drive the effects channel. Int. verb is how hard you drive the verb tank and int. vol. is how loud the dry signal.

2018年6月29日 · Everything works fine but that resistor is dropping a lot of voltage before the OT and the plate voltage on the power tubes is only at 288. I tried moving the OT primary up to the first filter cap instead and the plate voltage came up to 369 and the amp sounds great. The tubes are biased at 85%. The issue is that the PT is now getting much too hot.
