2017年9月29日 · EuroCity (EC) is the name used for international cross-border day train connections between Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Switzerland, as well as Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary and Denmark. Eurocity trains include a wide variety of operators and trains.

Am 31. Mai 1987 gründeten die Staatsbahnen der Europäischen Gemeinschaft, Österreichs und der Schweiz mit zunächst 64 Zugläufen das EC-Netz. Die EC-Züge sind Nachfolger des Trans-Europ-Express (TEE), der von 1957 bis 1988 verkehrte. Teilweise ersetzten sie aber auch gewöhnliche Schnellzüge.
