Drop C tuning is an alternative guitar tuning where at least one string has been lowered to a C, but most commonly refers to CGCFAD, which can be described as D tuning with a 6th string dropped to C, or drop D tuning transposed down a whole step. Because of its heavier tone, it is most commonly used in rock and heavy metal music.

One way to combat the sloppiness in a drop tuning is to use a larger gauge string than what originally was in place. I have an acoustic guitar which I keep tuned to C-Standard (C-F-A#-D#-G-C) which uses Elixir medium strings, which are .013-.056 gauge.

2023年9月8日 · It’s hard to say definitively, but it’s unlikely that tuning a half step higher would do any damage. The main element of a bass that takes the tension is the truss rod, and if you were to keep a bass in this tuning it would probably be wise to adjust the truss rod to give a little more back-bow, ie get it working a bit harder against the tension.

The top C could be around 30, depending whether you need a bendable top or not.All these are +or- .005, to preferences of easier to fret, or fatter bass tone.

You appear to be tuning the six string bass in the same way as an ordinary guitar. And often, a six string will go from low B to high C. Interested as to why. Usually, basses are tuned with all their strings a fourth apart. I realise it's a virtual bass! –

2019年8月25日 · To expound on leftaroundabout's answer, another alternate bass tuning, for 5 and 6 string basses, is to drop to Bb on the low string; essentially used for the same reasons as dropping down to Eb. In my own experience, this can come in handy when accompanying and/or replicating an 808 in hip-hop or reggae.
