2024年5月31日 · The Douro Region encompasses the still wines of the Douro DOP, fortified Ports and the broader IG Duriense, which even covers sparkling wines, all produced in the inland Douro river valley, some distance east of the city of Oporto.

The Douro valley is the engine room of fortified, sweet Port wines, but grapes here are also used to make dry red and white table wines. Port wines are often labeled as such while their dry cousins often bear the Douro title.
