2012年4月1日 · some previous posters said that the best DO programs > low tier MD programs. i'm not so sure. preclinical years are mostly up to the student, and 3rd and 4th years are better when you've got an affiliated hospital and established rotations. let the match lists for he past 5 years from tulane vs. pcom be evidence of this. btw, look at the match ...
How much does DO vs MD matter for psychiatry residencies?
2018年2月13日 · Anyway, I've read a lot about general DO vs MD issues on here but wanted to specifically ask this question for pre-medical students who are leaning toward traditionally less-competitive specialties. My understanding is that highly competitive ACGME residencies are extremely difficult for DO students to land regardless of grades, scores, or ...

An Open Letter To Everyone Debating DO VS MD
2013年5月22日 · No, DO VS MD is pretty lame; should MD become MDA or DO become MDO is pretty lame. "My patients are going to MD's because I have DO at the end of my name" is pretty lame. Talking about some of the things I've learned so that some Premeds won't be Jaded by the term DO as a result of the ongoing debate is not lame.
DO vs. Caribbean MD? | Student Doctor Network
2008年1月13日 · I talk with a friend in MD school regularly, and we have learned the same things. Many of my classmates will take COMLEX and USMLE - the material is the same (for the most part, enough to take either exam), and I think you'd be much better off doing D.O. vs Caribbean MD (why don't you just do U.S. MD if you are so concerned about it?)

2006年10月18日 · I am a 2nd year DO student and think that I can give you a pretty concrete answer on this. There are around 15,000 MD applicants and 300 MD Derm spots. There are less then 3,000 DO applicants and only around 18-23 DO Derm spots per year. You can do the math, but as you can see it is extremely competative to get into from either side of the fence.
MD MD vs DO from MD perspective - Student Doctor Network …
2017年11月12日 · This wasn't ever supposed to be a "DO vs MD thread." There was a very specific question asked about the MD curriculum, then everyone jumped in here to argue this same inane bs again. There's still people talking about third year and the difference in quality, or lack thereof, in clinical rotations and the interns they produce. YOU are the ...

2017年7月5日 · Briefly, you take fewer tests in US MD schools (you don't take COMLEX, DO shelves, OMM etc.) and you have much better clinical education opportunities because the standards are stricter and MD schools simply have more resources. Also, there are no differences in "philosophy" between MD and DO. They both practice evidence-based medicine.

1999年8月3日 · I think, like Dr. Henderson said, that for the most part, the entire DO vs MD controversy is most intent at the pre-med level. However, in regions where DOs are still relatively rare, there will definitely a be more raised eyebrows than if you are in regions where DOs are more common. I am originally from Ark, where there were precious few DOs.
