"A New Leaf" is the seventeenth episode of season two of the family sitcom Dinosaurs and the twenty-second episode overall. After a nasty argument with his parents, Robbie goes for a walk in the woods to meet up with Spike and happens upon a strange plant along the way.

My favorite moment was at the end when the "actor-dino" who played the role of the son in the show, talked about the episode. It was one of the first post-modernist self-aware moments (the show knows its a show and talks about itself) in television. I remember recognizing it even before I knew the words.
