Dimexus is an agility rune so if you are dual wielding any weapons that has doesn't have access to three strength rune slots, which are most strength weapons, then that is way to have a substitution for an Ixon rune.

There are some runes that break this rule. Gravix (increased 2-handed damage), Dimexus (increased dual wield damage), and Relox (increased charge attack damage) all give a 10% damage increase that applies to both equipped weapons. There might be other runes that do this too, I haven't tried all of them.
