2020年10月21日 · I use the JD product for my #2 diesel because because it’s easy. In the dead of winter when the blended fuel is mostly #1, I use the standadyne lubricity formula. I figure there is no point in adding anti gel to winterized, mostly #1 fuel that is already treated with anti gel.

2020年10月22日 · Kerosene, jet fuel and diesel are all similar fuels. Jet fuel and kerosene are a little “drier“ than diesel. It’s been a few years but they did a test of what additives gave the best lubricity. Biodiesel was the best, which is all I can get around here. Of course biodiesel also has more of a gelling problem.

Also, I treat every drop of diesel I use year round with Sta-bil for Diesel but the label doesn't mention anything about gel protection. Does anyone know if Sta-bil for Diesel provides anti-gel protection?

2014年11月17日 · Manufacturers of Diesel fuel already add the Anti-Gel to the formula. Look around S.N.H. and you will see Home Heating Fuel Tanks on the outside of homes and they operate just fine.

2023年10月31日 · A lot of people are big believers in fuel additives. I am not unless it serves a specific purpose, like anti gel. Project Farm did a review on them, you can find him on You Tube. I use an anti gel additive, but start adding kerosene when it starts getting down near zero.

2022年1月23日 · I never used a diesel fuel additive in any of our 3 diesel cars, and VW said not to. I only use it in the generator's 50-60 gallon tank to protect against algae formation because it sits there so long.

2022年12月28日 · As far as I know Sea Foam has no anti-gel properties. I personally wouldn't use it in an injected diesel engine because it contains alcohol which can very very abrasive on injectors.

2019年1月24日 · Why? ------ I thought I did everything right this winter (ran winter diesel purchased in December from a reputable gas station, treated with Howe's anti-gel at room temperature) and still had issues with either gelling or freezing fuel. The consensus on this forum seems to be that I got a batch of contaminated or bad fuel.
