Sir Desmond Angus Swayne TD VR (born 20 August 1956) [1] is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for New Forest West since 1997. [2] Before going into politics, Swayne was a teacher, and then a manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Desmond Tan Kok Ming (Chinese: 陈国明; pinyin: Chén Guómíng; born 13 September 1970) [1] is a Singaporean politician, union leader and former brigadier-general who has been serving as Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office since 2024 and Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trade Union Congress since 2022.

Desmond Lee Ti-Seng (Chinese: 李智陞; pinyin: Lǐ Zhìshēng; born 15 July 1976) is a Singaporean politician and lawyer who has been serving as Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration [1] since 2020.

Sir Desmond Swayne was born in 1956 and was educated at Bedford School and St Andrews University. He was a school master from 1981 to 1987 and a manager with the Royal Bank of Scotland from 1987 to 1997 when he was elected to Parliament for the New Forest West constituency. He served as an Army officer in the Reserves for over 30 years.
