2022年9月24日 · For many (all?) 2013-2015 models (and the DS216se) DSM 7.1.x will be the last upgrade. So those models won't get DSM 7.2 or whatever the next DSM version will be. 2021年8月1日 · I'm a bit sad about the the fact that the newly released DSM 7 won't support my DS213. The Box did a great job for the last years. The main usage of the box is the classic file server where I store my files and backups of my laptop. I also run daily backups to a external connected USB Drive. So nothing special.

2021年8月4日 · I was thinking it was probably NAS architecture but the DS412+ has the same CPU and RAM as the DS713+, which supports DSM 7. So either there is something else that's different or there was an abitrary cut-off after 2013.

2023年7月26日 · Looking back in the DSM 7.0 release notes there was a similar section for 2013, 2014 & 2015 models, all of which could run that level. For DSM 7.1 2013-2016 models were excluded from notification. It looks like a policy decision to notify on newer models only.

2022年4月19日 · I am running DSM 7 on my ds213j and it's been running great. Yes, the Web UI is slow, but the 213j is not the fastest. I believe the ds213j is the oldest model of ds supported by DSM 7. I only use the ds213j for remote storage / backups (NFS/Samba). No fancy Plex or any apps running on it. In that case, DSM 7 works just fine.

2022年4月30日 · There is no direct upgrade from 6 to DSM 7.1, you need to upgrade to 7.0.1 and then to 7.1. But I was only on 7.0.1 for a few minutes. I stopped the Plex server prior to upgrade, and once I was on 7.1 I installed the latest DSM7 friendly version from Plex's site and it works fine. All I had to do was add the permission as instructed by the UI.
