2021年6月2日 · While it would also be called 750, F11, and F12 during its 1960-1965 production run, the smoky little charmer wearing a now-familiar four-ring emblem was known in 1962-’63 as the Junior. While it shared its country of origin and price point with another economical German two-door, the Junior embodied a very different type of engineering.

The Junior was introduced by DKW in 1959. This coupe was characterized by its light body, front-wheel drive and 741cc inline 3 engine. Always with a 4-speed manual transmission, the Junior was a success in the European small car market. Its improved variant introduced in 1961, the Junior De Luxe, had more luggage space and a wider cabin.

In 1961 the DKW Junior retailed for 4790 Marks. It offered more luggage space and a wider cabin than the market leading Volkswagen Beetle, and customers willing to pay an extra 160 Marks for the optional heater had the advantage in winter of a car that warmed up much more rapidly than the Volkswagen with its air-cooled power unit.

Its engine is a naturally aspirated petrol, 0.7 litre, two stroke 3 cylinder. In this application it develops 34 bhp (34.5 PS/25.4 kW) of power at 4300 rpm, and maximum torque of 64 N·m (47 lb·ft/6.5 kgm) at 2500 rpm.
