2015年5月19日 · I also have a Burro Pick which is one funky design but it was cheap. Handle is a good length at 24" but the head is super lightweight and hardly gives it any swinging power. The digging spike is way too puny also.

I use 3mm wall thickness 40mm diameter steel tube then I just squash it in a vice until its oval shaped to take the end of the handle, which is a sledge hammet handle 1m long American hickory.

2020年4月2日 · Made this pick using a leaf spring back in '90, has seen a range of detectors come and go, currently with GPZ and still being carried on my chest. If there is a need to dig a deep hole, a stroll back to the ute to grab a larger one, sure beats carrying it around all day when the majority of digs are less than 300m.

This one is made from an old Kubota mower blade, (good hard steel), a piece of steel tube and a nice piece of fiddleback timber I turned on a lathe. It may be a little heavy for some, but that makes digging easier. Also has a rare earth magnet screwed to the end of the handle.
