DG stands for Dan Hangsleven & Gary Harlow. DG Racing was originally a motorcycle parts company only. Gary's son Kevin was both in MX and BMX so DG also got into BMX in 1975. In 1976 they hired Chuck Robinson (later of Robinson Racing) to run the team. He picked up some of the biggest names in BMX at the time including Jeff Bottema and Stu Thomsen.

2010年5月16日 · My commitments ended with DG in the winter of 1980 and I signed on with another team that allowed me to race a 24" cruiser. If I remember correctly the DG 24" were released in Spring of 1981. Shortly DG went out of business. The frame and forks are very rare because they were only around for less than a year.

It was an organic progression from rat rods and chopped muscle bikes, to a series of Schwinns and Huffys modified with ten speed seats, tubular forks and Winners Circle grips. I got closer to having a real BMX bike with a St. Tropez, which was stolen then replaced with a Team Murray. After that my first "real" BMX bike was a DG Racer.
