2023年2月25日 · Cogs were cargo ships used in seagoing trade in north-west medieval Europe from the 12th century. These vessels were made of oak and had a single square-rigged sail. They were clinker-built and typically ranged from about 15 to 25 meters in length. They were associated with the Hanseatic League and could carry more cargo than Viking-type ships.
