2009年8月26日 · What works for me is Fresh water dip. I have a Squamossa clam plagued with vermitid snails when I got him and I did a FW dip for about 15-20min. That was probably a year and half ago. Don't worry about the water in the container as long as your flow is off and you hold i water level , after that raise the container and dump that water out.

2018年7月4日 · Did the clam die? They can recover pretty quick if you brush off the snails and clams using a toothbrush. I usually gently rinse and brush a clam holding it upside down under gently water from my faucet. Always quarantine clams for at least 2 weeks. I would check all your clams each week for at least a couple weeks.

2010年11月8日 · Just wondering if others dip or scrub clams? What do you do before you add a clam to your tank? In the past, I have just added my clams straight to the display. Never had a QT (I do now). I have had about 7 clams, and have only lost 1.

2019年8月14日 · Absolutely never dip clams. Best practice is to set up a small qt/observation tank if you can. Otherwise, acclimate safely and put into display after inspecting. If it’s the only clam, then put into display, but if you have established clams, then I would consider observation first before mixing with established clams.
