Would you like to give a horse or pony a forever home? Here at Cheshire Horse Sanctuary, we take the concept of adoption very seriously. We want our horses and ponies to go to loving forever homes and the legal and binding contract enables us this peace of mind.

Spirit of the Herd is a not-for-profit horse and pony sanctuary with a difference, based near Helsby, Cheshire. Rescued horses and ponies are rehabilitated, and then used to help children, young people and adults living with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, lacking in confidence, or suffering from stress or anxiety.

You will be able to walk in and meet our sanctuary horses, grab a cuppa and a cake and enjoy our tranquil environment and see first hand how horses impact on your own mental well-being. 🐴Meet our herd and get to see how we care for them.🐴 Our doors will be open to the public for drop in visits from 10am till 4pm!

Over 10,000 homeless and abandoned horses/ponies are reported in the UK every year. We take in as many as we can, this is the easy part - it's finding a forever home for them that is challenging.
