Professor Yin Chen is a microbiologist and heads a group focusing on the ecophysiology of how microbes adapt to nutrient stress and climate change. He studied BSc/ MSc at Tsinghua University (1998-2005) and obtained his PhD at University of Warwick in 2008.

Dr. Chen’s laboratory utilizes cutting-edge technologies (e.g. single cell RNAseq, CRISPR, gene-targeting mouse models, etc.) to understand molecular pathogenesis of various lung diseases. The goal is to identify novel targets for therapy and drug development.

Dr. Yin Chen is a member of RFG2. His research interest is to understand the dysfunction of airway epithelium in the pathogenesis of a variety of acute and chronic airway disease including asthma and COPD.

Chen Yin, male, Han Chinese, a CPC member, was born in September 1962 in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province. He holds a university degree, an MBA degree and the title of senior engineer.
