2004年6月4日 · Charley Pride unofficially started his music career in the late 1950s as a ballplayer with the Negro American League’s Memphis Red Sox singing and playing guitar on the team bus between ballparks. Self-taught on a guitar bought at the age 14 from Sears Roebuck, Pride would join various bands' onstage as he and the team roved the country.

2000年11月22日 · I was in Europe on 1987 with an artist that worked a show with Charley Pride, and I met Joe Wright for the first time. It was a lot of fun. In fact, Joe sat in with us and sang "The Other Woman". The great Ronnie Miller works with Charley now. Ronnie is a friend of mine. He is an awesome picker and a true gentleman.

2010年3月22日 · Saw Charley in Austin yesterday at the rodeo. Terrible, terrible sound system. Everything muffled. If you listened real close, you could hear the steel once in a while. When Charley talked, you could barely hear him. Most of the time I couldn't. He introduced his band and I think he said the steel player was Ronnie Miller.

2004年8月13日 · Back in the 1980s I found myself playing in the support band for Charley Pride's UK tour. Joe Wright was on steel, by the way, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and hanging out with him. What I wanted to say, though, was that Charley's voice was captivating! I found myself listening from the wings on almost every show.
