I have assumed for a while that my oily, acne prone skin is due to a damaged moisture barrier, or just generally dry skin (or dehydrated skin, I get confused about these two). To combat this I've tried using many different CeraVe products to try and prevent my skin from drying out, but they all seem to make me break out.

I've used cerave moisturising lotion for 7 years and it's made the eczema I developed due to another product (including eyelid eczema) spread more and get worse.

2023年4月23日 · About a week ago, I decided to mix it up a bit. I started using CeraVe foaming facial cleaner (normal to oily skin) and CeraVe moisturizer in the tub every morning and evening. I continue to use my sunscreen and pimple patches. Over the past week, my acne went from mild to moderate to really bad.

2021年8月16日 · I am noticing less acne every day. Nothing else was working, and my breakouts were getting worse and more painful. Surprisingly, my moisture barrier seems to be repairing itself even with my using this CeraVe BP cleanser, so I recommend it as well.

2017年3月9日 · Cerave also breaks me out pretty badly. Same with Cetaphil and nearly every other lotion. I would keep looking for one that doesn't clog your pores– it's a pain. I really like St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizer (in the tub), and it's only like $5. It is one of maybe 2 moisturizers that don't break me out, and I've tried soo many. 2023年1月20日 · Is the Cerave Acne Control Cleaner or the SA Renewing cleaner better? I’m planning on using this either right after I wake up or right before I sleep. During those 2 times my skin is usually dry. In the morning my pillowcase probably absorbs all my skins oils, and at night it’s when I come home from swim practice (face dry due to pool water).

You guys, my mind is blown! Reddit’s love, Cerave, was what was causing my breakouts! I still can’t believe it. I feel like this subreddit loves cerave in a tub! And me, being naive about skin care, jumped on the band wagon and started slathering my face with cerave.

2024年3月7日 · I've completely stopped the retinol after the 2nd use and last use is now 11 days ago. Could this be an allergic reaction maybe or is it the typical purging phase or what else could it be? I read isopropyl myristate can cause a lot of clogged pores and lead to breakouts and cerave retinols have that ingredient, so maybe it was that?
