The AMC AMX/3 (alternate spelling: AMX III) is a mid-engine sports car produced by the American carmaker American Motors Corporation (AMC), which was presented to the Italian press in March 1970 and was to be produced in Germany by Karmann starting in 1971.

1978 Richard Teague buys cars Chassis No. 03 and Chassis No. 05 from AMC. Chassis No. 05, originally silver, now yellow, Teague installs the upside-down ’79 Firbird tail lights. Reported black was tried first on car #5 but Teague said it hid the lines.

2013年8月30日 · One can only presume the AMC officials agreed, and the very car that impressed them has now come up for sale. One of only six built, the AMX/3 is best known as number 4, and according to owner Walter Kirtland of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it’s the only one of the six to have been branded not as an AMC but as an “AMX/3 by Bizzarrini.”

Nine original AMX/3 chassis survive and all current locations and complete provenance since 1968 are now documented. Seven AMX/3 complete cars, one AMX/2 restored fiberglass Design Concept Push-Mobile, one AMX/K raw shell and one AMX/3 fiberglass Design Concept Push-Mobile unrestored, all survive, and complete provenance is documented.

2024年7月14日 · These steel-bodied cars featured a 6.4-liter AMC V8 engine, mounted mid-car and capable of pushing out 340 horsepower and a whopping 430 lb-ft. of torque, connected to an OTO Melara 4-speed gearbox. Apparently, the car handled exceptionally well and had an extremely stiff semi-monocoque chassis.
