Carnew (Irish: Carn an Bhua, meaning 'victory mound') [2] is a village in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is the most southerly town in Wicklow situated just a mile from the border with County Wexford. For historical reasons it has often been described as "a Protestant enclave". [3] The village is in a civil parish of the same name. [4]

The town of Carnew is located on the southernmost border of County Wicklow. In terms of both historical outlook and socio-economic considerations, it has more in common with its southern neighbouring county of Wexford, than it has with the county of Wicklow.

2021年2月22日 · Carnew is a market town situated in the extreme south of the county almost on the County Wexford border on the R725 Carlow to Gorey Road. The Carnew Training and Development Centre is located at the west end of the town and houses the local tourist office and Information Technology centre.
