To re-inforce, either load frame inside with tubing that fits inside of current frame, or weld on "fish plating" or load dispersing panels on the outside as mentioned. Maybe do some checking around to see if someone in your area has done this sort of thing before and is willing to give you some tips and hands-on demonstration.

2010年4月13日 · Im doing some repairs on the front end of a drag car, and were I am working the frame has some cracks in it. I was always told to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to prevent it from spreading, once thats done then it can be welded. Just wondering if this is true or if anyone has any other suggestions. Anything will help. Thanks.

Hammer it flat, throw a washer on the hole and crank a new bolt down good and tight.

So a 6" tall frame should have a diamond shape patch that is 12" - 18" over all length. Your local high end welding shop would be your best bet especially if they work on a lot of heavy equipment.
