2024年8月26日 · The California Red sheep is a dual-purpose breed of domestic sheep which was developed in the United States in the 1970s. Dr. Glenn Spurlock of Davis, California crossed Tunis sheep and Barbados Blackbelly sheep for developing this breed in the early 1970s.

California Reds are medium-sized sheep, the rams weighing from 200-250 pounds and the ewes from 110-140 pounds. The rams sometimes have manes and both sexes are polled. The breed is non-seasonal and can be bred for three lamb crops in two years.
