The CV follows the Chicopee River for a distance out of Palmer. The road is on the other side of the valley. I was able to get this shot from a clear spot, getting this panoramic view of the valley and the six units on train 562. A set of six GP 9s leads train 562 south under Stafford Hollow Rd in Monson Mass. This was typical power for that era.

Central Vermont train 444 rolls through Belchertown Mass behnid five GP 9s and a GP 18. What a sound those 567s made!! Train 444 has done its work at Palmer and is now headed toward Connecticut. The power has cut off train 444, leaving it north of the Conrail Boston Line, and is about to work at the Plamer yard.
