It involves drilling 4 holes, inserting metal dowels or router bits into the holes (the dowels or bits should be the same size as the holes), measureing the diagonals, and adjusting the gantry.

However my next gantry router is using 20mm and 25mm rails because the 5&6 mm tapped holes are easier to do than the 4mm ones used on the 15mm rails.

I have been using a digital level that measures to 0.01 degrees (SPI-Tronic Pro 3600) and have leveled the machine to within 0.03 degrees across 32 points in the XY plane.
