The C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS is the second generation of the Mercedes CLS-Class range of four-door coupé sedans. The model shares the chassis and most of the technology with the W212 E-Class and was produced from 2011 to 2017.

The C218 was offered with either a V6 or a V8 engine, and featured a range of variants, including the CLS400, CLS400 4MATIC, CLS550, CLS550 4MATIC, CLS63 AMG, CLS63 AMG 4MATIC, CLS63 AMG S and CLS63 AMG S 4MATIC. Mercedes replaced the C218 with the Third Generation C257 CLS-Class for 2019.

Introduced for the 2011 model year, the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG was a high performance variant of the C218 CLS-Class. The AMG-tuned CLS 63 was powered by Mercedes-AMG's M157 DE55 engine, which was a 5.5L twin-turbo V8.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS550 4MATIC was a variant of the C218 CLS-Class that debuted for the 2011 model year. The C218 replaced the previous C219 CLS550, and was equipped with Mercedes' M278 E47 engine.
