He holds the record of longest-serving Chief Minister in the political history of Telugu states. He is the national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). In 1978, he was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Indian National Congress party, and from 1980 to 1982, he served as a minister in the state cabinet.

Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister following the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. The State Cabinet of Andhra Pradesh was sworn in on 8 June 2014.

The chief ministership of N. Chandrababu Naidu began on 1 September 1995 and ended on 11 October 1999, making him the 13th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu was sworn in by the then governor, Krishan Kant. Naidu's second term started on 11 October 1999 to end on 13 May 2004, sworn in by the then governor, C. Rangarajan. [1] .

In 2014, his party TDP joined the NDA but left NDA in March 2018 over the issue of Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. After becoming Andhra Pradesh CM, he developed Amravati as the capital of the state and led Andhra Pradesh to achieve the top position in the World Bank’s Ease of Business rankings in the country.

After the death of the great legendary politician and Actor NTR, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu took charge of the TDP Party.
