C & Z Purlins - Apex
They are primarily used to provide lightweight, economical, efficient roofing and cladding support systems for framed structures. Apex Purlins and Girts are available in a range of different sizes and configurations. C-sections have equal flanges and may be used in single spans and unlapped continuous spans in multi-bay buildings.
C Sections should be fitted on the high side of the cleat, open face directed up the slope. Z Sections should be fitted with the web on the low side of the cleat, with the top flange above it.
Single cleats are most commonly used with Z sections and double cleats with C sections. Double cleats can also be used in applications with a high reaction load to reduce bolt stress and sheer. Extra care is required with hole detailing in double cleat application to a single purlin.
When using down turned lip purlins or girts the lip length must be added to the dimension B and Y. Cleat lengths may be increased in some design situations (e.g. above an expansion joint).
Stramit offers a wide range of standard C and Z purlins from 100 to 350 deep in several thicknesses. Downturn lips are also available for both C and Z sections from 150 to 350, including lappable Zs. Special sizes from 100 to 400 are also possible. Now available are Stramit Exacta® purlins and girts for increased structural eficiency.
Stramit® Purlins and Girts are primarily used to support roof or wall sheeting in industrial, rural and commercial buildings. While commonly attached to fabricated steel frames, the C and Z sections are, on occasion, also used in small and medium sized buildings for the structural frame.
E-PQ04-FC-C200 Rectangular Cleats - gteek.com
Quadrangular-shaped profile used as a cleat on TPU conveyor and processing belts. Can also be used longitudinally as a lateral barrier, but corrugated sidewalls may be a better solution. Profiles are applied to the belt surface using a hot air or high frequency welding procedure.
C&Z Purlins & Girts - Stramit
Stramit ® Purlins and Girts will give excellent durability in most applications. GALVASPAN ® steel is not recommended for use within 450mm of moist soil. Unwashed areas subject to salt-laden air or other corrosive matter may need additional protection. In many cases such protection can be provided by using ZAM ® coating.

Apex Purlin Tables
Generally cleat plate steels have a lower stress grade than purlins, thus the cleat plate thickness will be greater than the purlins. Recommended bolt sizes given in tables are for two bolts only; these can be replaced with four (4) bolts of smaller sized bolts if required.
LYSAGHT® Zed & Cee Purlins and Girts - STEEL SELECT
LYSAGHT® Zed & Cee Purlins and Girts are accurately roll-formed from high-strength zinc-coated steel to provide an efficient roofing and cladding support system for framed structures. LYSAGHT® Zed sections may be used over single spans, lapped continuous and unlapped continuous spans in multi-bay buildings.
