The Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care exists to develop and accelerate evidenced and best practiced-based guidance for medical response and medical treatment of the injured during high risk and atypical civilian operational scenarios.

The Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care used the military battlefield guidelines of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) as an evidenced based starting point in the development of civilian specific medical guidelines for high threat operations.

Establish tactical supremacy and defer in depth medical interventions if engaged in ongoing direct threat (e.g. active fire fight, unstable building collapse, dynamic post-explosive scenario, etc.). Threat mitigation techniques will minimize risk to casualties and the providers.
