Kind of like I’ve just gargled with acid or some such substance. 2013年1月28日 · Probably safer to find an additive for wood fires which cleans creosote buildup out of your chimney. My aunt heats her home with a wood stove and has to dump a couple tablespoons of the stuff on the fire a couple times a week; the stuff burns up and falls to the bottom of the stove pipe and needs to get shoveled out.

2013年12月2日 · I think it just displaces the air. It is a very heavy gas that sinks down and smothers the fire, so keeping the oxygen in the much lighter air away from it. To put out a fire, it does not need to react with the burning stuff, it needs to not react with it. After a while the halon will just mix into the air and diffuse away, but that takes time.

2007年1月7日 · It smells like oil burning. It also leaves a greasy feel in the air. Napalm, at least in my experience of the late 60s, is made by taking gasoline and adding a geling agent. The agent looked a lot like oatmeal. You just poured it in a bucket and stired it all up until it got to looking like thin pudding and then poured it into a flamethrower tank.

There also a decent chance of knocking a pan of burning stuff off of the stove as you try to put a blanket on it. That takes the fire from one square foot to 10 square feet, and it’s surrounding you.
