2024年10月1日 · The Birimian Volcanic Belts host most of Ghana's mineral resources. It consists of six belts namely; the Wa-Lawra belt, Bole-Nangodi belt, Bui-Banda belt, Sefwi belt, Ashanti belt and Winneba-Kibi belt (Fig. 1). Apart from the Wa-Lawra belt, which trends in N-S direction, the remaining five trend along the regional strike (NE-SW).

The Bui-Banda gold Belt strikes in two different directions, namely, NE-SW and N-S. Since the volcanic rocks intruded the sedimentary rocks in the environment, it is inferred that the quartz veins which intrude in two different directions (NNE-SSW and NNW-SSE) are as a result of the volcanic rocks in two different directions.

For instance, the structures in the Wa-Lawra Belt would not be the same as that in the Nangodi, Bui-Banda, Ashanti, etc. Each of the belts has its own peculiar structures.

The first paper ``Geology of the Bui Belt Area in Ghana'' are the Explanatory Notes to the Geological Map of Ghana 1:100,000, sheet 0703 A (Sampa), sheet 0703 B (Wench)) and sheet 0803 D (Banda). It describes all individual rock units on the geological maps and refers to noteworthy geological features on individual sheets.

Bui is the second largest hydroelectric generating plant in the country after the Akosombo Dam. The reservoir flooded about 20% of the Bui National Park and impacts the habitats for the rare black hippopotamus as well as a large number of wildlife species.

2019年6月8日 · Ghana has several gold belts which include the Ashanti, Sefwi-Bibiani, Bui-Banda and the Kibi-Winneba as shown in Fig. 6.1a. The two most prominent belts, the Ashanti and Sefwi-Bibiani, host ten (10) large-scale gold mines and over 500 small-scale gold mines found within south-western Ghana.
