Between 1899 and 1942, Major Ian Brodie, the 24th Laird of Brodie raised tens of thousands of daffodils in the walled garden at the beautiful Morayshire estate that’s now in the protection of our charity.

Major Ian Brodie, 24th laird of Brodie and clan chieftain, began tinkering with daffodils in 1899 at his ancestral home in Morayshire, at first cross-breeding from around 49 different bulbs.
