The Green Berets (Bosnian: Zelene beretke) was a military organization founded in Sarajevo in early 1991. [1] They were founded by demobilized soldiers and conscripts from the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) who were mostly ethnic Bosniaks and supporters of the elected government of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Zelene Beretke (English, "Green Berets") was a paramilitary organization founded in Sarajevo in early 1992. They were integrated into a newly founded Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in second part of 1992.

Four holes are present beneath the badge where a German Bundeswehr badge was once originally fitted. This beret is of German origin but typical of those used by Bosnian militia & other para-military formations. This was found by the donor in October 1993, near Tuzla, while serving with the Dutch peacekeeping contingent.
