Also with a black car, you have to either properly dry the car or use a very soft water otherwise you will have white-ish spots on the roof/hood where the water dried. Any imperfections will show up almost instantly. Plus dust is much more visible. Thing is everything on the paint contrasts a lot and thus is very easy to see.

2010年5月8日 · They normally film in the Bay area. Let’s say it was 70 degrees out. Black car went to 135 F, white one to 126 F. So the black car heated up 65 F, the white car 56 F, only about 15% less. Most of the heat comes through the windows, not the roof or doors. I never notice the headliner being hot in my black car, in Dallas, in the summer.

I have a black car now which I can’t take to a normal car wash because it will end up showing micro abrasions from brush marks. The nearest touch-less car wash is 20 minutes away, which is a PITA. I have a saying. When a white car is dirty, it looks dirty. When a black car is dirty, it looks crappy. It does look great when it’s clean, though.

Cons: Scratches easily visible, swirl marks, dust magnet, needs constant care. After owning the two black cars for the past year, would I buy another black car? Hell yes.

Owning a black car introduced me to proper wash methods, weekly washing, clay barring, da polishers, being able to properly cut & polish, etc. It in itself was a great learning journey that I'll not regret owning a black car for but I do get better return on my time spent detailing these days on a non black car.

2015年4月23日 · I think black is like the little black dress of the car world. Makes cars look sleeker and tighter than their white counterpart. But boy it's a pain in the ass to keep clean/dust free. Black for my fun car, white for a DD. I'd say it depends on your tolerance for having a dusty car (my biggest issue with a black car).

2025年3月27日 · Get in car, turn on engine/motor (ev), manually turn all lights on, connect seat belt, check mirrors, seat position, then…drive. Living in the “far north” of Maine it is amazing the number of times I do not see another vehicle except for the pin-pricks of their full headlights, since low sun is glaring into my eyes, visors notwithstanding.
