Since the event on 29 April mentioned in that post Bisley Village Hall's Heritage Project has made acquired artefacts, photos, documents and other memorabilia relating to the School.

2008年10月6日 · Anyone have any records/photos of the above school which was part of the SHAFTESBURY HOMES. You are able to search on-line for references of the records etc they hold there. I am not sure if you would be able to access individuals names etc if they were in Care. However, photos may be a possibility.
Bisley Village Hall: a beautiful community facility
Bisley Village Hall was built in 1874 and was originally the chapel to the Farm School & Shaftesbury Schools which later amalgamated to become Bisley Boys School. Bisley Boys School closed down at the end of the Summer Term July 1959.

I went to Shaftesbury school as a day boy, along with Syd Binstead, David Collyer, John Lucas etc, my father Stan Burdett was the school engineer and we lived at No 1 The Firs in Bisley. As a lot of you probably know the school is now Coldingly prison.

The new windows are in place of ones installed after WW1 in memory of 89 Old Boys of the Shaftesbury Society Schools in Bisley, who died in that war. Those windows disappeared when the School closed in 1959. The new ones commemorate all who have died in conflicts and the rich heritage of our Hall.

Schools. The Bisley Refuge Farm School, erected in 1868, was for the reception of 150 homeless and destitute boys; the estate comprised about 120 acres; the boys were taught various useful trades. The Shaftesbury School, an addition, was erected in 1873, also for 150 boys, and a chapel, seating 400, was built in 1874.
