2021年5月11日 · Bay Lough. We reached Bay Lough where we stopped for about 15 minutes to admire the scenery. Although the lake is beautiful, it’s also very dark, and it’s easy to see how it is reputed to be bottomless. It’s also associated with the witch, Petticoat Loose, who was banished to it for eternity and ordered to empty it with a thimble.

This walk visits Bay Lough near Tullaghorton, County Tipperary. The Corrie lake is part of the Knockmealdown Mountain range, a stunning area popular with hikers. You can start the walk from the car parking area at The Vee just to the south of the lake.

There are several trails around Bay Lough Lake, on the Lismore/Cappoquin road from Clogheen. The most obvious is the trail to the lake accessed from the Waterford side via one easy to walk pathway from the car park.
