2017年1月25日 · I do think that both Balor and Pit Fiend are pretty lame compared to AD&D Balors and Pit Fiends, respectively. The fact that the 5E Pit Fiend cannot even teleport, let alone cast spells like Animate Dead, Disguise Self, and Suggestion, makes me gasp because it so limits their out-of-combat infiltration capabilities and plot potential.

2010年7月3日 · When the Balor was put past 0 hp with subdual damage for the last bit (the paladin has the ability to see how close things are to death) my character threw out a many jaws and the party hid behind 20' of stone and the sorcerer's wall of force as the beast's death throws made a heck of a big blast.

2014年10月11日 · If we assume the Marilith goes first (is surprising the balor, or simply because her Dex is higher): The Marilith will get in 4 rounds of combat, dealing 217.6 damage to the Balor before dying. So the Balor lives, but only with ~50 hp left. So the Balor remains the top dog, but with the new bounded accuracy its a lot closer.

2002年8月6日 · The old 1e Monster Manual showed the Balor (Type VI Demon back then) and the Pit Fiend both as winged humanoid demons ("demons" in a generic way; I know the Pit Fiend's a devil). Well, sorta humanoid. The Balor looked more human than the Pit Fiend, but not by much. I see no problem with the Balor looking like the Balrog in LotR the movie.

2004年7月26日 · Specifically, the Balor. Now, for a long time I'd accepted the general opinion that the name Balor was just a slight change from Balrog from LotR. But I've been reading a lot on Celtic myth lately, and have found that the leader of a large group of evil creatures in the myths happens to be called Balor.
