As the principal of Ballincollig Community School, I am delighted to welcome you and your child to our school community. BCS is an integral part of the Ballincollig community, and our motto, "Achieving Excellence Together," reflects our commitment to collaborative success.
Ballincollig Community School first opened on September 14th, 1976 with 109 students and 10 teachers, under the guidance of former Principal Dan Murray. Today we have close on 900 students and 65 teachers. In the intervening years over 5,000 pupils have attended Ballincollig Community School.
The mission statement reads “The Adult Education Department of Ballincollig Community School is committed to providing a diverse range of quality classes as part of our programme”. Over the years many staff members have played a pivotal role in developing Adult Education.
Our mission statement outlines the school aims: To enable pupils to develop their full potential – intellectually, spiritually, artistically and socially. To foster in pupils a sense of respect for themselves and others and a sense of civic pride.
