The BMP-1 is a Soviet amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle that has been in service from 1966 to the present. BMP stands for Boyevaya Mashina Pyekhoty 1 (Russian: Боевая Машина Пехоты 1; БМП-1), meaning "infantry fighting vehicle, 1st serial model". [11]

BMP-1 (w Polsce oznaczony BWP-1) – radziecki bojowy wóz piechoty. Wprowadzony do uzbrojenia w 1966 roku. Był nowatorską konstrukcją i uważany jest za pierwszy skonstruowany od podstaw i produkowany seryjnie bojowy wóz piechoty na świecie.

BMP-1 (Ob'yekt 765Sp2) – The standard production version weighs 13 tonnes. It was built from 1969 to 1973. Vehicles produced from the mid-1970s had a higher hull with more space inside as well as a different shaped nose section which also made it 20 cm longer, giving it an improved swimming capability.

2022年4月13日 · BWP-1 is the local Polish Army designation of the classic Soviet-era 15-ton BMP-1 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). The original vehicle first appeared in 1966 and was manufactured through over 42,000 examples, leading to its global use with Soviet-aligned powers like China, India, and Czechoslovakia.

BMP-1 was purchased in quantities by Iraq, with the first batch of 200 vehicles in 1973 from USSR (delivered in 1974 and 1975) and 750 more apparently Czech-built and delivered from 1981 to 1987 for a total of 950 BMP-1 active in the Iran-Iraq conflict.

2022年4月5日 · 起初波兰与 瑞典博福斯公司 合作升级BWP-1，设计师原打算对BWP-1底盘进行现代化改装，然后将博福斯公司成熟的CV90 40步战车炮塔直接嫁接过来，不过经过计算证明这种方法工作量比较大，苏系装备注重低矮造型，而CV-90步战车炮塔体型较大并且有吊篮，整合在一起有一定技术难度。 BWP-40步战车它没有改动车体的装甲防护、发动机、行走装置，其车体装甲厚度应该在6~33毫米之间，使用一台300马力水冷柴油机驱动，仍然具备水陆两栖能力。
