BNSF got the 2 WCRC CF7's but very quickly disposed of them (I believe they went to Railnet). They never carried BNSF markings or were ever on the roster. According to Robert C. Del Grosso's "BNSF Railway 1997 Motive Power Review," both CF-7's were sold to Livingston Rebuild Center (LRCX) in June of 1997.

2477, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1949, #8937, FN 1234-A18, as AT&SF 225C, Class 200, an F7A. It was rebuilt at Cleburne in July 1976 as 2477, Class 2417. It was sold as TKEN 2477 and sold as NERR 2477.

The CF7 program was pretty much the first of Santa Fe's mass remanufacturing programs. CF7's started coming out in 1970, revitalizing the underutilized Cleburne shop. The GP7 rebuild program didn't start until 1973, San Bernardino got into the act in the mid-70's with the SSB1200's, and the GP9's, GP20's and SD24's came later in the 70's.

Feb 17, 2008 · SLSF Speaking of Frisco and BN... I took these photos back in the early 90's at the BN yard in Fort Worth. I have never heard of the road name but it definently the Frisco scheme complete with the proper font and "be careful" slogans. I'm not sure if it is an ex-SLSF or not, but it sure does look like it!

Back in the days of AT&SF's BN runthrough QBHLA we did occasionally saw BN FREDS on the rear of the trains in Southern California. Other than NS who uses a different frequency band there is no reason any fred cannot be interchenged with another railroad. What were the numbers and reporting marks on these? Were they on BNSF or UP?
