On my k1200s the clutch hydraulic line is routed through all sorts of parts inside the frame, i just replaced that so i don't see how you can easily remove and then re-install without opening the line fittings.

After replacing the clutch pack my gearbox has become really nice and smooth and drops in to 1st quietly and smoothly. While you have the gearbox out it's worth swapping out the seals on teh gearbox as there are update seals since the bike was released now hey are new fresh rubber.

2018年1月31日 · That does not look like a BMW OEM clutch friction disc. Edit: I stand corrected. That is the first time I have ever seen a BMW clutch friction disc with both sides of the friction material missing. If you're going to replace the clutch friction disc, consider the ones with the extended splines/spacer extended splines.

2008年12月4日 · "Starting with the R1200GS and K1200S, BMW started using mineral oil instead of brake fluid in the clutch system. It does not require changing (ever) and of course is non-corrosive if it happens to get on the paint." First time I had heard this....that the clutch fluid in these bikes never needs changing! True for the R12S as well?

2011年5月12日 · While you are there go to pelican and buy some new parts like a rear main seal, a set of clutch fork roller bearings, new flywheel bolts, clutch bolts, exhaust manifold gasket and don't forget to buy the 8mm cheesehead tool. That's about $50-$100 but if you strip a bolt and don't have a replacement that sucks. Don't forget a good torque wrench.

2024年1月30日 · Previous to this K1200S, I had R1150RS, I removed the servo pump & ABS unit from it, experienced much better brake performance, less electrical draw & shed some weight off the bike. All I needed was re-route the brake lines, a relay bypass to keep the speedo working.. I think when the ABS pump goes kaput, I will do the same on this K1200S.
