He emntions the BMW 803 as a developmental engine, of whicj two were built. He says that an Fw 190 / Ta 152 type development was possible but was never proceeded with since the end of hostilities curtailed any further effort.

2008年4月3日 · Not just the 803, the BMW was trying out the 800 (9-cyl engine, 1st run 1942), and a whole alphabet of the 801 versions. But, Id shelve also the 802, and go for the 801 with a 2-stage, 2-speed compressor. The 804 and 805 were such developments, but with 4-speed supercharger gears. Go figure.

2015年6月20日 · I don't know what BMW changed between the two heads. You can't make 1900hp Wright R-2600 heads on the sam emachinery as the 1700hp R-2600 heads and the Hercules went through around 5-7 different cylinder heads in it's history.
