With games, you never know. Ubisoft has cancelled games, yet not mentioned BGE2 which is a good thing. They're also releasing a special edition of the original BGE, which could mean they're trying to hype up new generations (and returning players) for the upcoming prequel. Sure seems like they had plenty of issues during development.
