This year marks the 18th Anniversary of the ACD since it was founded on this day of June 2002 to form an inter-governmental grouping, aiming to promote the Asian cooperation to become an Asian Community.

The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) was inaugurated in June 2002 in Cha-Am, Thailand, where 18 Asian Foreign Ministers met together for the first time. The ACD is a continent-wide forum, the first of its kind in Asia.

We aim to bring the ACD Vision for Asia Cooperation 2030 into action taking into account the suggested elements in the Blueprint 2017-2021 and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The private sectors have proposed multi-dimensional guidelines in developing Asia to the public sectors, including the enhancement of financial connectivity in Asia through modern financial technology and innovation (FinTech).

The Provisional Secretariat’s vision is to facilitate the effective exchange of information between Member States, Prime and Co-Prime Mover of areas of cooperation, and external (private and non-government) organization to shape interaction and inform of decision-making.

The 20 Area of Cooperation is being consolidating into the following 6 priority pillars: (i) Connectivity; (ii) Science, Technology and Innovation; (iii) Education and Human Resource Development; (iv) Interrelation of Food, Energy and Water Security; (v) Culture and Tourism; and, (vi) Promoting Approaches to Inclusive and Sustainable Development.
