Even in the movie, Obi-Wan was shown to beat her without really taking her seriously. I think in Star Wars, generally, 2v1s tilt in the favor of the single combatant. There's more to think about and focus on when you're having to worry and work around a teammate. Ventress is never shown to be as good as Anakin or Obi-Wan in one on one situations.
