The Arctic Circle Assembly is the largest annual international gathering on the Arctic, attended by more than 2000 participants from over 60 countries. The Assembly is held every October in Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center and the Reykjavik EDITION, Iceland.
Arctic Council: Structure, Work and Achievements
The Arctic Council cooperation is based upon a consensus-building approach. Decisions cannot be taken by the Council unless there is consensus among all the Arctic States. This might be seen as a weakness. However, given the structure of the Arctic Council, this has indeed turned out to be a major strength. The Arctic Council works at three levels.

Launched at the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly, October 17-19. The Polar Dialogue builds on the preceding Paris Polar Summit held at the initiative of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron in November 2023, and a series of discussions during consultative meetings with key stakeholders in Paris, Reykjavík, Monaco and Berlin.
