2016年1月13日 · Apparently Aptoide-dev was installed but somehow only for the guest user. All I had to do was switching to the guest user, going to Settings -> Apps and remove the Aptoide-dev package. Going back to my profile did some weird stuff (I can't switch between apps, it'll probably work after restart) but I managed to install Aptoide finally. Thanks.

Like F-Droid, Aptoide has multiple repositories – but I couldn't figure out whether there's a "trust-able" main repository like with F-Droid. There is related information available in the package description (e.g. this one ) indicating safety measures such as malware scan, signature validation, and third-party validation.

2022年7月8日 · Aptoide is also an app store like Play Store which needs an account. This is like your Google account for Play Store. So it will have permissions (just like Play Store) for creating/modifying accounts (only for Aptoide). Location access is for viewing apps according to your location. Aptoide is safe but be careful with the apps downloaded from it.

Aptoide is also known to be a source of pirated apps, so if you want to use any app, consider downloading it from Play Store or from the official source. Many apps are the original ones and considered safe. If you have concerns, do not use it.

If only regarding legal issues, Aptoide is definitely a gray area as some apps are not legally distributed there, clearly bypassing fees setup on the Google Play Store or breaking licensing terms. Furthermore, there are concerns that malware can be injected in apps shipped on Aptoide, although they make efforts to scan apps for such problems.

Since Aptoide is not a mediated source for apps (Google Play is), it goes without saying that it's up to the user to use discretion on the things they get from that source. Since the update rollout from Play Store is staged, some people get the update earlier than the other, and they share the APK to other (e.g. XDA, APKMirror, Aptoide) for other people to sideload it. It almost always happened to me when reading new features of Google apps' update, when I haven't got the update yet. –
