2018年2月13日 · What about getting some wedges cut - 10 degree maybe 300mm wide and full depth of the joist. If there is a timber running full length, fix the wedges in place with10 or 12 screws and put the hangers over that and the main timber behind.

2020年4月20日 · Just fix a 2x2 on the bottom of the ledger, then cut the angle required on the ends of the joists, then notch the bottom 2 inches out of the joist so it butts into the ledger at the correct angle and sits on the 2x2 bearer. Spike it into both, job done, no messing about or hangers required.

2021年3月26日 · I am replacing a panelled roof with a joisted epdm flat roof on a garage. I am going for a cold deck due to height restrictions and fitting a wall plate to then use timber joist hangers. My question is can I angle the joists so firm a flat surface on the underside so I can easily add the vapour barrier that a cold deck needs. Thanks for any help. H

2009年12月17日 · The O/P said that he's using 200x50mm hangers. The tang on <u>that</u> size is 52mm, so a 115mm disc will easily cut to that depth. I have no idea how he'll establish levels doing it that way - but <u>that's up to him.</u> Personally I'd prefer to bolt a level plate to the wall to take the joist hangers...

2019年8月21日 · Got the joists in for the second floor. Flat roof, are triple joist hangers easy to get hold of? I cant seem to find them in the usual places. Double joist hangers timber to timber are avaliable everywhere. I have two skylights going in the flat roof. SE has shown three joists either side on the plans. (He seems to well over engineer everything!)

2009年4月21日 · if it's only one joist and the rot is only minimal just cut it back and bolt a new section along side using bolts with star washers in between the joists, you might need an angled drill to be able to do this. and either fix into a joist hanger or make the original hole bigger, then brick up round the joist, treat the timber and wrap the end of the joist in some thick polythene.

Most places, including screwfix sell 30mm square twist nails (product code 12788). However 30mm sounds quite short to me, but thats probably just me over thinking/enginnering eveerything.
