6 天之前 · I was told yesterday of a report that GE had purchased 15 SD40-2’s from LTEX for rebuilding with GE prime movers....Wondering if anyone had heard anything similar?....I know how rumors can gain steam. As of today (Aug 27th), I was told that there were no SD40-2’s to be seen parked behind the plant. Thank you for any help on this. XC

Canadian Pacific General Motors SD40-2 Diesels
General Motors SD40-2 Diesels 773 was built by Electro-Motive in December 1972, #73634-7, FN 73634-7, as Soo Line RR 773. It retains the Soo red and white lettering, but it has cab lettering for CPR.
Engine overhauled in 2006 by Alstom. All wheels 2” or better.

It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3028, SD40-2. 6297, Class SD-40, was built in February 1966, #31289, FN 7862-5, as PRR 6044, Class EF-30A. It became PC 6044, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6297, Class SD-40, in April 1976.
